Zurich, Oct 29: FIFA's medical committee is considering the case of Rio Ferdinand and tests for the steroid THG at a meeting in Zurich.
FIFA's sports medical committee met in Zurich on Tuesday (October 28) and considered the case of England international defender Rio Ferdinand, who missed a drugs test in September. Ferdinand has claimed he forgot to take the test at Manchester United's training ground at Carrington on September 23 but faces a possible two-year ban from football if the English FA finds him guilty of wilfully missing a drugs test. FIFA president Sepp Blatter said that the case was the responsibility of the English Football Association (FA) and that the medical committee would only be discussing the case from a medical point of view. But Blatter said no action would be taken by FIFA until the English FA had judged on Ferdinand's case.
