Chennai, Oct 14: External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha today said India was taking up with Pakistan the issue of unidentified persons encroaching into the Indian consulate in Karachi. "We are taking up the matter seriously, as we should. We are in touch with Pakistani authorities. It has to the handiwork of some private parties", Sinha, who was here enroute to Colombo, told reporters at Chennai airport.
"Obviously we are not going to war on this", was his reply when asked what India was going to do about the issue.
Indian High Commission has lodged a complaint with city police in Islamabad to evict the illegal occupants of the its consultate building in Karachi.
On the peace talks going on between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan government, Sinha said India was watching the developments.
"We are keeping a watch on the developments. Whatever settlement occurs, it has to be arrived at between the two parties", he said.
