Lucknow, Nov 19: An accused in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, Rohit Chaturvedi, whose judicial remand was extended by a special court here today, alleged that CBI used third degree methods for extracting his confessional statement and sought contempt of court proceedings against some officials even as the agency interrogated an uncle of prime accused and former minister Amar Mani Tripathi. Chaturvedi was produced before the court of Special Judicial Magistrate (CBI) R M Yadav on expiry of his judicial remand which sent him back to jail till November 21.
A cousin of former minister Amar Mani Tripathi, Chaturvedi, in an application before the court alleged that CBI had used third degree methods to extract his confessional statement before a magistrate in New Delhi on November 17.
He prayed for initiation of contempt proceedings against some officials for allegedly violating the terms imposed by the court while remanding him to judicial custody earlier.
The agency did not disclose his whereabout to the two counsels as directed by the court and also assaulted him, Chaturvedi alleged.
The agency said polygraphy test of Chaturvedi, however, could not be conducted.
Meanwhile, the agency today grilled Tripathi's uncle and Uttar Pradesh minister Shyam Narain Tewari at his residence in connection with the case.
