Chandigarh, Nov 23: Haryana Police today arrested seven villagers in connection with the recent lynching of five Dalits in Dulina village in Jhahhar district taking the total number of arrests in the case to 13, official sources said. The seven surrendered before the police, who later formally arrested and produced them before the duty magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody till November 28, they said quoting reports from Jhajhar.
The arrests come a few days after the lifting of the five-day nine-hour blockade of various roads from Jhajjar following an assurance from the district authorities that innocents would not be harassed in connection with the case.
Besides the 13, five other villagers were arrested last week in connection with incidents of violence and road blockade after the first arrest of five residents of adjoining Sura village.

Those arrested today were identified as Hans Raj, Basant, Ashok son of Fateh Singh, Ashok son of Sarup, Satish, Jaswant and Vikram. All the seven are residents of village Sura, located close to village Dulina. Bureau Report
