Raipur, Nov 05: A day after Chhattisgarh
administration was pulled up for `biased and partisan'
attitude by Chief Election Commissioner J M Lyngdoh, state
Chief Minister Ajit Jogi today assured to hold free and fair
poll on December one in the state.
"Being the constitutional head and Chief Minister of the
state, I assured the entire nation that there will be free,
fair, peaceful and undisputed poll in the state," Jogi told
reporters here.
Replying to a query about yesterday's complaints against his government and administration, Jogi said, "no one should question the process of free and fair poll in the state".
Dismissing the allegation that he was attempting to influence the vote, he said, "some people, who knew they have lost the poll, are trying to create such an atmosphere here. When they are winning why should they create such a thing since there is only one-sided wave in the state in favour of Congress."
It is the tradition here that peaceful, free and fair polls are held and congress also believes in that, Jogi said citing former prime minister Indira Gandhi's example.
"The best example is of Indira Gandhi, who held a free and fair poll and lost. We will maintain that tradition," Jogi said.
