New Delhi, Aug 20: President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today greeted people on the eve of Navroz, the Parsi new year.
New Delhi, Aug 20: President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today greeted people on the eve of Navroz, the Parsi new year.
"May this festival inspire us to work for communal harmony and over all progress of the nation," Kalam said in his message.
He said the festival celebrated by the Parsi community, which has contributed immensely to the country's industry, commerce, trade and education, was another example of "our pluralism and commitment to a multi-cultural society."
The President said the community can contribute in a big way for the unity of minds. Vajpayee expressed the hope that the festival will strengthen bonds of love, compassion and mutual help among countrymen.
