Musharraf says India not reciprocating peace initiatives
New York, Sept 24: Asserting that Pakistan has done its `utmost` to contain terrorism, President Pervez Musharraf has said peace initiatives by Islamabad for holding a dialogue with India were not being reciprocated by New Delhi.
"Pakistan believed in elimination of terrorism in all forms and manifestations," Musharraf said during his meeting with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan yesterday.
Referring to the Kashmir issue, Musharraf said "Islamabad had made several peace initiatives towards India for holding a composite and meaningful dialogue, but they had not been reciprocated by India." According to the official APP newsagency the 20-minute meeting was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
Later the Pakistani President also met US President George W Bush at a luncheon reception hosted for the heads of the state, APP reported. Bureau Report
