Kolkata, Nov 03: Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee today dared West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya to order a CBI probe or an inquiry by a sitting high court judge into the violence in R G Kar medical college hospital. TC workers took out a procession and burnt an effigy of the Health Minister accusing the the CPI(M)-led ruling left front of being behind the 'armed attack' on mediapersons at the hospital and demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. In a sharp reaction to the Chief Minister's accusation that TC was involved in Saturday night's violence in hospital premises, Banerjee said "if the left front government has the courage, let it order a CBI inquiry or a probe by a sitting judge into it. "Everything then will come out in the open." The Union Minister said she had informed Prime Minister A B Vajpayee about "the sorry state of affairs" in the health sector as also the "deterioration" in law and order. Not only health and education, many other sectors are in disarray and "if necessary, I will speak to him (Vajpayee) further." On the Chief Minister's allegation, she said, "TC was not even allowed to contest the student body election there." To a question, she alleged that the CPI(M) after issuing a warning to a high court judge for an order banning rallies and processsions, had now shited focus on journalists. Meanwhile, Trinamool youth activists marched from S C Mullick square to Rani Rashmoni road in central Kolkata and burnt an effigy of Health Minister Surjya Kanta Mishra. Bureau Report
