Talwandi Sabo (Bhatinda), Apr 14: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today said a probe was on into the disproportionate assets case against former chief minister and sad President Parkash Singh Badal and the government was dealing with it in a cautious and fool proof manner. Addressing a congress meeting here on the occasion of Baisakhi, Singh reiterated his "firm resolve to teach a lesson to Badal for his alleged irregularities during his chief ministership". Badal is being accused of amassing assets worth Rs 3,500 crore. The Chief Minister said action would not be taken against Badal until all formalities were completed.
Badal, speaking at a conference of sad, said Amarinder Singh had not been able to collect even a single evidence against him and charged him with targeting Akalis.

He said if Singh had evidence against him, why was he not being arrested.
"He is diverting attention of public towards the Akalis only to conceal his government's failures on all fronts", Badal alleged.

The Chief Minister said 2003 had been declared a "development year" and justified the hike in salaries of legislators saying their counterparts in Haryana were already getting it.
