Isle of Man, June 05: Bruce Anstey riding a Triumph ValMoto has won the Junior Tourist Trophy race on the Isle of Man. It is the British motorcycle manufacturer's first TT win for 28 years. New Zealand's Anstey dominated the race on his Triumph ValMoto Daytona 600 on Wednesday (June 4) to finish 10.96 seconds ahead of his nearest rival and recorded the fastest ever Supersport TT race which he completed in 1:15.13.98. The race was held on the Mountain course which winds for 37.73 miles (60.7 kms) through villages and hills on the Isle of Man, off the north-west coast of Britain. The riders travel at unabated speed on ordinary roads still dotted with manhole covers and lined with postboxes and telephone poles. Intermittent fog and mist on parts of the circuit are often a hazard. The races have killed many riders since their inception in 1907. Anstey put in two fast laps at the start of the four laps race, which the riders start at timed intervals. He built up a lead of over 10 seconds and held the advantage to the finish line.

His win underlines the return to form of the once mighty Triumph marque that is competing in the Supersport category this season. Second was Ian Lougher on a Honda with Adrian Archibald third on a Suzuki.
