Despite months of denials, the United Nations has a videotape containing information about the abduction of three Israeli soldiers on the Lebanese border in October, Israeli defence minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said.
The disclosure on Thursday came at a time of heightened tension after Israeli warplanes attacked a Syrian radar station in Lebanon on Sunday, following a Hezbollah artillery attack that wounded an Israeli soldier. Israel has repeatedly requested that the tape is handed over, but UN officials had previously denied its existence, the defence ministry said in a statement. Bureau Report
