New Delhi, June 08: Sushil Kumar and Sujit Mann collected two bronze medals for India while Renu Bala became only the second Indian medallist in the women's section as the Asian Wrestling Championships entered its final day today.
Having won only four bronze and two silver medals so far, India's hope for a gold medal now rest solely on Commonwealth medallist Palwinder Singh Cheema, whose final bout in the 120 kg freestyle is scheduled later in the day.
National champion Kiran Sihag also figures in the final and will vie for a gold in women's 67 kg category.
In the morning session, Sushil Kumar defeated Jung Yong of Korea to finish third after losing to Mohammd Seyed of Iran earlier in the semi-final round of the 60 kg freestyle men category.
Sushil's skills proved far better against his Korean opponent and the Indian comfortably won 10-4. Sushil had earlier lost to M Seyed 1-3.
Sujit Mann also lost 5-2 in the 74 kg men freestyle category semi-final but won his next bout by default -- because Kazhakhstan's Gennadly Laivev did not turn up -- to settle for a bronze.
Renu Bala, with her sole win in the championship, emerged third in women's 51 kg category. Renu dominated the game to beat Wang Yin Chi of Taipei 6-1.
In other bouts, India's Ravinder Singh and Virender Singh faltered against Korea's Kim Bong Suk and Iran's Gharibi Aliyeza in 60 kg and 120 kg Greco-Roman style respectively.
Finals of remaining categories will take place later in the day.
