From Schemes For Women To Priests: Freebie Policies Announced By AAP For Delhi Election 2025

The political debate on freebies has emerged from the last few elections in several states including Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharastra and others. All the parties are freebies to secure the seats in the election.  Now, AAP has to make remarkable promises to win Delhi's upcoming Assembly election in 2025. 

These announcements of freebies come as AAP aims to secure a fourth consecutive term in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

AAP has expanded its old-age pension scheme by adding 80,000 new beneficiaries, raising the total number of recipients to 5.3 lakh. The government also launched a new online portal to streamline applications, which has already received 10,000 submissions.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal announced the 'Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana' if re-elected in Delhi, which promises a monthly allowance of Rs 18,000 for Hindu temple priests and gurdwara granthis.

AAP has launched a scheme to provide financial assistance to women from families with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh. Under this program, eligible women will receive a monthly stipend of  Rs 1,000, which will increase to Rs 2,100 if AAP is re-elected.

Kejriwal announced the ‘Dr Ambedkar Samman Scholarship Yojana’, which promised to cover fees as well as the cost of travel and stay for Dalit students from Delhi who secure admission to higher education at top international universities.

Aam Aadmi Party had won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 assembly elections. In the assembly elections held in 2015, it came to power for the first time with the full majority by winning 67 out of 70 seats. (Image: ANI)
