Dehradun, Aug 22: In its efforts to prevent inconvenience to family members of those who made the supreme sacrifice of laying down their lives in the Kargil operation, Uttaranchal cabinet has decided that from now on, it would not be mandatory for the martyrs' kin to produce certificates to receive pensions every month. At a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister N D Tiwari last evening, it was decided that the families would now have to produce these certificates once every year in the month of November. The measure would save the Kargil martyrs' families from the hassle of visiting the pension offices every month with the certificates, Chief Secretary Madhukar Gupta told reporters. Bureau Report
