Rajya Sabha Friday condemned the brutal and barbaric terrorist attack on Parliament and resolved to fight unitedly terrorism with grit and determination to eliminate it. As the House met on the morrow of the attack in which chairman and Vice President Krishan Kant had a close shave, members wished him a long life.
Thanking the members, Kant made a reference to the ''cowardly and dastardly'' attack saying it shocked not only the entire nation but also the conscience of freedom-loving mankind all over the world.
''No words are strong enough to condemn the heinous act,'' he said and made a specific reference to the loss of lives of four of his security men besides Jagdish Prasad Yadav of the Rajya Sabha watch and ward staff, Kamlesh Kumari of CRPF and gardener Desh Raj.
The Vice President said the watch and ward staff was unarmed but showed great presence of mind.
