J&K Deputy CM promises further acceleration of development pace
Jammu, Aug 26: Asserting the coalition government had succeeded in addressing problems of the people at the grass root level, Deputy Chief Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma, assured that the pace of development will further be accelerated in J&K under the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).

accelerated in J&K under the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
"The coalition government has functioned according to the expectations of the people who have heaved a sigh of relief after the Assembly elections," Sharma said addressing a convention of District Congress Committee, Jammu (Rural), at Maralia in R S Pura Tehsil of Jammu district yesterday.
An apparent change in the working of different departments has been witnessed by the people who practiced their franchise in favour of the new coalition government, he said.
Sharma said for the first time in the history of state, the government has taken effective steps to fulfill important demands of the people.
Referring to inclusion of Dogri in the 8th Schedule, Sharma reiterated that the matter has been given top priority and the government has recommended the case to the Centre for approval.
Regarding Wazir Commission Report, he said "the Coordination Committee has recommended its implementation in letter and spirit."
He also laid stress on strengthening the Panchayats and giving more representation to women in civic institutions.
To overcome the problem of unemployment, a programme of providing jobs on contract basis has been launched throughout the state. The menace of corruption in the administration is also being tackled effectively, he said.
