Hyderabad, June 11: The heatwave sweeping across parts of Andhra Pradesh has claimed nine lives in Krishna district, taking the overall death toll in the state to 1421, official sources said today. However, pre-monsoon showers and cloudy weather has brought the temperature down in various parts of the state, and mercury was hovering between 37 and 42 degrees Celsius, a spokesman of local weather office said. The monsoon is likely to hit the state in another four or five days as it has already crossed Goa and southern parts of Karnataka, he said. Hyderabad recorded 38.07 degrees Celsius, Visakhapatnam 37.6, Vijayawada 41.07 and Tirupati 42.09 degrees Celsius. Bureau Report
