New Delhi, Apr 27: The meeting between Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, which was slated for this evening to discuss seat-sharing for next year's Lok Sabha elections and smoothen rough edges in ties between the two parties, was called off.
The meeting failed to take place because of Advani's
pre-occupation in Rajasthan where he flagged off BJP's
"Parivartan Yatra" which virtually launched the party's
campaign for assembly elections.
Mayawati, who was in the capital, had a meeting with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to discuss the sugarcane price issue.
