Jammu, June 11: Majority among the 15 delegations who met with Centre's interlocutor N N Vohra today highlighted the need to involve cross-section of people in the dialogue process, equitable development of all regions of Jammu and Kashmir and return of migrants to the Valley. Vohra's talks with various sections of the people during his week-long visit entered the fourth day today.

A five-member delegation led by Congress activist and social worker Rani Blowria welcomed the talk process and said that it should be conducted with all sections of people. All efforts should be made to end militancy and to secure the life and property of the citizens, she said and demanded equitable distribution of resources and opportunities to all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

The problems of the Kashmiri pandit community were also highlighted by various organizations including the Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch, which demanded the formulation of suitable "instrumentalities" for their return to the Valley. Demanding implementation of the "healing touch" policy, they opined that the present system of packages and incentives failed to address the doubts and fears and does not provide any motivation for their return.

A delegation of the action committee for return of migrants led by its president, Jatinder Bakshi, argued that, to maintain secular ethos, it was essential to mobilize public opinion and create an atmosphere to highlight the importance of the return of Kashmiri pandits and Sikh migrants.

Duggar Pradesh Party team led by its president Shiv Nath strongly urged for granting statehood to Jammu and union territory status to Ladakh. Bureau Report
