Kathmandu, Aug 17: As the Nepalese government and Maoist rebels began the third round of peace talks, the five major political parties today said they would intensify their agitation for restoration of multi-party democracy. "The parties will gather one and a half lakh cadres here on September 3 to launch a decisive movement" against the government, Nepali Congress' Kathmandu valley in-charge Tirtharam Dangol said.

The five parties - Nepali Congress, Nepal Communist Party-UML, Janamorcha Nepal, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and Nepal Sadbhvana Party - boycotted the peace negotiations saying that they have been initiated by an "illegitimate and unconstitutional government".
