New Delhi, Sept 18: A Delhi court today resumed the proceedings in the Nitish Katara murder case involving the son and nephew of Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav after it was tranferred by the Supreme Court from Ghaziabad to capital and fixed September 26 to begin arguments on charge.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) S N Dhingra also issued notice to investigating officer and chief public prosecutor, Uttar Pradesh directing them to make available to court during proceedings an official aware with the case and make arrangements for the prosecution. Vikas and Vishal Yadav, son and nephew of the MP are accused of kidnapping and murdering Nitish, son of senior IAS officer, from a marriage party in February this year in Ghaziabad.

The district judge had yesterday transferred the case in the court of ASJ Dhingra after ASJ V K Jain had declined to hear it on the ground that one of the defence lawyer was reportedly related to him. The Supreme Court on August 23 had transferred the trial proceedings from Ghaziabad to Delhi on a petition filed by the victim's mother Neelam Katara alleging that fair trial was not possible there.

The UP Police had filed the chargesheet against the accused in April, but the apex court had stayed the trial proceedings.

Vikas is also an accused in the murder case of ramp model Jessica Lal. Bureau Report
