Canara Bank`s offshore banking ops from Nov
Bangalore, Sept 11: Canara Bank on Tuesday said it would begin operations in November of its Offshore Banking Unit (OBU) in SEZ at Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
CII has avoided the unbundling of the Singapore issues as the concerned issues, except for investment and competition policy, are not related.
Moreover, CII believes that the situation as of now is not right for multilateral negotiations on any of these issues in the form of framework of rules or otherwise.
The OBU, for which it has got the Reserve Bank of India permission, would be an overseas branch but operating on Indian soil, a bank statement said.
The branch will engage in wholesale banking and will maintain multi-currency accounts. Its focus will be on units operating in the SEZ.
