13 killed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 18: Thirteen people, including eight ultras and a security jawan, were killed and five others injured in separate incidents while a Hizbul Mujahideen militant was arrested and a fruit merchant abducted in Jammu and Kashmir since last night, a police spokesman said today.

Five Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HUJI) militants were
killed and an army jawan injured in a fierce gunbattle at
Gajnatoo in Udhampur district last night, the spokesman said.
The deceased militants were identified as commander
Tamoor Hyder, Masul-ul-Haq, Hyder Ali, Zubair-ul-Islam and
Rizvi Ahmad and four AK rifles, 16 magazines, an under-barrel
grenade launcher, 11 UBGL grenades, two wireless sets and
eight hand grenades were recovered from them.
A civilian Mohammad Ayub Yatoo was also killed and another injured in the encounter, he said.
A Lashker-e-Toiba militant, Abu Bakar alias Jardal, was killed in an encounter at Gunthal in Surankote area of Poonch district. A woman was also injured in the crossfire and hospitalized, the spokesman said. Bureau Report
