Vadodara, Oct 22: Gujarat Electricity Board Employees Joint Action Committee (GEBEJAC) threatened to launch an indefinite strike from October 22, to press their demands for a tripartite agreement between the union, GEB and Gujarat Government before restructuring of the board.
"The Narendra Modi government has cheated the employees by passing the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 in the budget session of the Assembly", Committee Convenor Baldev Patel told reporters here.
The assurances given to GEB employees have not been accomodated in the Act, he said.
Other demands of the employees include protecting the benefits of pension, provident funds, service condition, retired benefits, financial benefits, welfare schemes and others, convenor added.
