Ayodhya, Oct 22: Apparently as part of the centre's
efforts to bring Hindu and Muslim leaders on the talks table
to resolve the Ayodhya issue, S A Rizvi, a managing committee
member of newly-formed Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust met chief of
Ram Janambhoomi Nyas Mahant Nrtiya Gopal Das here.
Rizvi told newsmen here today that he was invited by
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, recently and held informal
discussions on Ayodhya issue and also went to Karsewakpuram
here housing VHP central office.
"It would be my endeavour to arrive at an amicable and honourable settlement of the dispute and pave way for the construction of Ram Janambhoomi Temple on acquired land while a new Jama Masjid could be constructed at a suitable place elsewhere in Faizabad district," he said.
Rizvi said Mahant Das has suggested that sustained efforts should be made to resolve the temple tangle through dialogue for which the trust would convene a meeting of Hindu and Muslim religious leaders in Ayodhya in near future.
Union Minister of State for Home Swami Chinmayanand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and other key leaders would also be invited to participate in the meeting, Rizvi said hoping that some positive result might emerge by Holi next year.
He said that now that a direct link has been established between the Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust and Ram Janambhoomi Nyas, it would help preserve peace and communal harmony in the country.
