New Delhi, May 28: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has bagged a Rs 18 crore turnkey order from Delhi Transco Ltd for setting up a 220 KV grid substation in the capital. The scope of the order envisages manufacture and supply of 100 MVA and 20 MVA transformers, switchgear, control and relay panels, insulators and instrument transformers, a BHEL release said here.

The project would be commissioned in 18 months.
The transformers and insulators would be manufactured by BHEL's Jhansi and Bangalore units respectively, while the balance equipment would be supplied by the Bhopal unit.
With the setting up of the substation at Siri Fort area, power supply in South Delhi will improve substantially and around 200 MW of additional power will be made available to the area. Bureau Report
