Army to use SAJ to jam militants` communication channels
Jammu, Sept 03: With the development of electronic warfare, army will be deploying a Stand Alone Jammer (SAJ) as electronic counter-measures against multi-frequencies used by militants in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said today.

"Samyukta, an electronic warfare system for army, is in
advanced stage of development and testing," the sources told

This jammer is used to jam all three frequency bands namely low, mid and high bands, the sources said, adding this has been tested in field and found to be very effective particularly in militancy-hit areas. Once system is okayed for the launch, it will be deployed here to counter frequencies used by militants, they said.
The militant outfits has been using high tech frequencies of Kenwood and high band wireless sets, they said, adding after this system was deployed, there would be control over the communication channels currently used by ultras.
