Hyderabad, July 12: Stating that changes are in the offing in vigilance manual and procedures, the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) P Shankar today sought suggestions from Chief Vigilance Officers of various organisations to improve the quality of work and make vigilance task more effective. "Any deliberate delay on part of administrative executives in addressing vigilance-related issues would be viewed seriously and the commission would, in extreme cases, withhold vigilance clearance for such organisaitons", the CVC warned after inaugurating a 'vigilance study circle' here. Calling for regular training programmes for vigilance officers, he asked them to come up with suggestions for further improving vigilance work and changing the manual and procedures. "Vigilance work is not an easy task. Generally, it is considered an obtrusive invasion of privacy of executives," Shankar said.

Setting up of vigilance study circle is a very important initiative which would help vigilance officers exchange their views and experiences, he said adding "a forum like this will help you unburden yourself and share your experiences with your counterparts in other organisations."
The study circle is set up by city's Association for Advancement of Police and Security Sciences (AAPSS). Bureau Report
