Five militants were among six persons killed in Kashmir Valley, where ultras damaged a telecom centre and made abortive bids to blow up security bunkers since last evening, an official spokesman said on Monday.
He said that two foreign militants owing allegiance to Lashker-e-Toiba were killed in an encounter with security forces and police at Chutipora-Hygam in Sopore area of Baramulla district.

Militants fired two rifle grenades in a bid to blow up security bunkers in Barbar Shah area of Srinagar on Monday. The grenades exploded near Ranbir Bhavan and a nearby security bunker, manned by special security branch barely 100 yards away from the main telecommunication office in the city.
Hizbul Mujahideen outfit has claimed responsibility for the grenade attacks. The spokesman said a telecom exchange at Soibugh in Budgam district was partially damaged when militants hurled a grenade inside the exchange on Sunday night.
