Legspinner Stuart MacGill has been recalled to the Australian cricket team for the first Test against South Africa at Adelaide Oval starting on Friday.
MacGill replaces Andy Bichel, who served as 12th man in the series against New Zealand. With the Adelaide pitch taking spin, Australia could possibly play MacGill and fellow legspinner Shane Warne together in the Test. MacGill made his test debut at Adelaide against South Africa four years ago and played in Adelaide last year against the West Indies when Warne was injured. He and Warne have not played in the same team together since 1999.
The Australian team: Steve Waugh (captain), Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh, Damien Martyn, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie, Stuart MacGill, Glenn McGrath (12th man to be announced).
