Bangladesh's envoy to Iran, Tufail Karim Haider, will replace Mostafa Faruque Mohammad as high commissioner to New Delhi, an official release has said. Mohammad was appointed as high commissioner to New Delhi in 1999 and had completed two years in August.

Haider, who is currently heading the Bangladesh mission in Tehran, joined the erstwhile foreign service of Pakistan in 1968 after obtaining his master's degree in political science from Dhaka University in 1966, the release said.
A career diplomat, haider has been ambassador to Egypt and France and was also posted in several other places including Moscow, Warsaw, Tokyo, Belgrade and Dubai in different capacities.
Haider, who is in Tehran since October 1998, served as chief of protocol and represented Bangladesh in numerous international meetings and conferences including NAM, OIC, Commonwealth and Unctad, Saarc and Unesco, the announcement said. Bureau Report
