Ranchi, Mar 09: The Jharkhand opposition today said the rebellion in the coalition has ''vindicated'' its charge of non-performance and corruption against the Babulal Marandi government. ''We have been saying that Marandi government has broken all past records in corruption during its 27-month-old rule. Now the drama in the coalition is for everyone to see with the rebel ministers levelling the same charges against the ministry," CPI(ML) central committee member and MLA Mahendra Singh told reporters here.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief and MP Sibu Soren said the Marandi government would fall under its own weight with the rebel ministers enlightening the people about the failure of Chief Minister Babulal Marandi to initiate steps to generate employment, control extremism and check corruption. However, Chief Minister Babulal Marandi remains unmoved by the goings on and expressed confidence that the opposition would be taught a lesson by the people during the bye-election to the Poreyahat Assembly seat on March 24.
''This year's Holi will be celebrated at Poreyahat'', Marandi told reporters here yesterday, hinting there was no threat to his government from the rebel ministers. Marandi has tried to mend fences with the five ministers Madhu Singh, Bachcha Singh, Jaleshwar Mahato, Ramesh Singh Munda (all Samata) and Lalchand Mahato (JD-U) but met with little success in his attempts.
