BJP get into poll mode; candidate selection soon
New Delhi, Oct 06: With the Election Commission announcing the poll schedule for the assembly elections, BJP today got into the poll mode saying the exercise for selection of candidates would begin soon and its leaders would step up the party`s campaign across the five states.

Welcoming the EC's time table as "good dates" for the "BJP is ready to defeat the Congress in the four states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Chhattisgarh and make an entry into Mizoram".
He said in Chhattisgarh, senior party leader Dilip Singh Judev yesterday launched an 'Ashwamedha Yatra' which would cover a distance of 18,000 km spread over 36 assembly constituencies.
It was flagged off by party general secretary Pramod Mahajan. Asked whether Judev was the party's choice for chief ministership since it were the three chief ministerial candidates in Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh who had undertaken similar yatras, Javdekar said, "We have not yet decided on a candidate for Chhattisgarh for tactical reasons."
