Mumbai, June 10: Part of the metropolis and neighbouring Thane-Belapur belt experienced pre-monsoon showers early this morning giving some relief to Mumbaikars from the scorching heat. Colaba observatory in south Mumbai recorded 2.6 mm of rainfall while the Thane-Belapur area received 8.2 mm of rainfall, officials of the Colaba Meteorology Centre here told.
The Santa Cruz observatory, however, did not record any rainfall, they said.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau sources had yesterday said that the south-west monsoon was expected to hit Mumbai by June 15. Bureau Report
