Ranchi, May 03: Demanding a judicial probe into the arrest of its legislature party leader, Furkan Ansari, on April 29, the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee today said that it would seek Governor Ved Prakash Marwah's intervention in what it says is a conspiracy to put him in jail. The JPCC secretary, Gulfam Mujib, told a press conference here that they would meet the Governor tomorrow to submit a memorandum on the events leading to the Godda Lok Sabha nominee, Ansari's arrest during repolling on April 29 in Godda. ''The party also demands a judicial inquiry by a retired High Court judge and immediate submission of final report to the court so that Ansari may prove his innocence soon,'' he said. Ansari, the CLP leader in Jharkhand assembly, was yesterday admitted to the Rajendra institute of medical sciences after he complained of pain in his chest at Godda sub-jail where he was lodged after alleged violation of the Representation of People's Act and Arms Act. He also said that the party invited its allies - JMM, RJD and Left Parties - for tomorrow's demonstration.
