Jabalpur, Feb 05: Kamla Jaan, the first eunuch mayor in the country, will file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Madhya Pradesh High Court judgement of February three unseating her. The former Mayor of Katni Municipal Corporation told a news agency that although she respected Madhya Pradesh High Court judgement she will appeal against it in the Supreme Court.
Kamla Jaan said that the high court judgement had put her political career into jeopardy and because of this she wanted to go to the apex court.
"I am confident that I shall get justice from the highest court in the country," she said.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court on February 3 had upheld an election tribunal order setting aside the election of Kamala Jaan, the country's first eunuch mayor in Katni civic body, from a seat reserved for women.

Kamla Jaan had won the election for the mayor's post defeating BJP's Alka Jain and others.
