The 55-year-old nurse from Kent became the first woman to keep the score during the NatWest International one-day match between England and South Africa on Saturday. The decision had to be endorsed by the Marylebone Cricket Club, which only admitted its first women members in 1999, 212 years after its inception. Mrs Rawson is a highly-qualified scorer who is also on the executive committee of the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers.
