Kozhikode, Nov 05: Several political parties, including the AIADMK, who quit the NDA, are now preparing themselves to return to the coalition, BJP leader and union Minister of State for Defence O Rajagopal said today. "Having been convinced that the Vajpayee government is the one that can deliver the goods and having also seen the performance of the previous governments including that of the congress, many parties that left the NDA earlier are now keen to return to the fold", he said at a function at Kunnamangalam near here as part of BJP's ‘Gaon Chalo’ campaign to popularise NDA government's "achievements" at the village level.
"After Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, now Jayalalithaa is also getting ready to return to the NDA", he said, adding NDA had emerged as a `successful' coalition of 23 parties and had also proved the critics wrong who had earlier claimed that such a massive coalition could not last long.
The NDA government had come to stay and had also developed the nation in several spheres at a rapid pace compared to the previous governments, particularly the Congress, he said, adding the Vajpayee government's achievements in less than five years were comparatively much greater than the Congress which ruled for 47 years `only to leave the country in huge debts'.
"Now the situation in NDA is that no one is prepared to go while others who left earlier are very keen to return", he added.
