Nine trawlers with 39 Indians were rounded up by Sri Lankan fishermen near Pooneryn in northern Jaffna region yesterday, they said.
The Indians were being held in an area controlled by the Rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), officials said, adding talks were underway to get the fishermen released.
