London, Oct 09: The International Cricket Council (ICC) today charged South Africa captain Graeme Smith, all-rounder Andrew Hall and Pakistan batsman Yousuf Youhana for breaching the code of conduct in the second one-day international between South Africa and Pakistan in Lahore last. The three will face match referee Clive Lloyd after ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed yesterday reviewed television replays of an incident in the match.
Smith has been pulled up for using obscene language and could face a fine between 50 to 100 per cent of his match fee and/or a one test match or 2 ODI match ban, ICC said in a press release here today.
Hall is facing two charges -- for inappropriate and deliberate physical contact and for conduct that brings the game into disrepute -- and faces a ban between two and four tests or four and eight ODI matches.
Youhana could escape with an official reprimand and/or a fine up to 50 per cent of his match fee after ICC charged him with level 1 offence.
The time and venue of the hearing by Lloyd will be confirmed later, the release said.
The second match of the five match series saw Youhana and Hall in an on-field spat. Television replays suggested Hall hitting Youhana with his elbow as the Pakistani passed him to complete a run. Bureau Report
