New Delhi, Sept 12: In a major haul, Delhi Police have seized six kgs of heroin worth Rs six crore and arrested two persons on drug peddling charges.
Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of the narcotics branch laid a trap near metropolitan hotel in the heart of the capital and nabbed a 55-year old man, Nand Gopal Puri, a resident of Ludhiana district of Punjab and allegedly recovered four kgs of heroin from his leather bag, which he had come to deliver, Deputy Commissioner of Police D L Kashyap said.
Efforts were on to nab Puri's accomplice Sukhcharan Singh alias Sukha, whose father Major Singh is also wanted by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a case involving 65 kgs of heroin, Kashyap said.
In another case, acting on a tip-off, police arrested Mohd Nabi Jan Ahmed, 32, a resident of UP's Jyotiba Phule Nagar district, and allegedly seized two kgs of heroin from him.
