In a startling revelation, union home minister L K Advani on Monday said a Pakistani high commission official with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) links had passed on information on Parliament security to Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists involved in the December 13 attack.
Addressing an election meeting in Noida, Mr Advani said the official had visited Parliament to gather information on the security inside the main building and was the source of the information for the terrorists who chalked out the plan according to the inputs provided by him.
“The official had direct links with the ISI and was part of the conspiracy to attack Parliament,” he said. Based on the inputs provided by the official, the terrorists were fully aware that there were no armed security personnel inside the main building and once they managed to sneak inside it the entire political leadership of the country would be at their disposal.

‘'If the five terrorists had succeeded in their attempt, it would have been an open field for them... Had the alert security personnel not acted in time and foiled the nefarious design, the extent of the bloodshed would have been unimaginable,'' the home minister said.

''During my recent visit to the United States, I had told the officials there that the December 13 attack may appear to you as an incident, but to us it would have changed our history,'' he said during the 45-minute speech which was dominated by the issue of terrorism.
