The 17th state conference of the CPI(M), which leads the Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF), will be held in Kannur from February 15 to 18, a party official has said.

“About 20,000 party volunteers were expected to take part in the inaugural march of the four-day meeting,” party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan told the organising committee formation meeting held in Kannur on Friday.
Adressing the meeting, former chief minister E K Nayanar said that besides strengthening the LDF in the state, the other main focus of the conference would be to formulate steps towards ousting the BJP led government at the centre. Bureau Report
