Jaya boycotted function as asked to sit in corner
Chennai, May 05: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha boycotted the public function here attended by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee yesterday because she was to be seated `in a corner`, she said in the state assembly today.

to be seated "in a corner", she said in the state assembly
today.
The chief minister said she got a fax message from the
Prime Minister's office on May 03 saying she should "sit in
a corner" in the function in which Vajpayee had yesterday
dedicated the new international departure terminal at the
Chennai airport.
Maintaining that "due respect was not shown" to
her, Jayalalitha said in seating arrangements on the dais she
was allotted a seat "in a corner" while Union Environment
Minister T. R. Baalu, who she said, was in no (no) way
associated with the function was seated next to the Prime
Minister.
