New Delhi, Sept 14: Government has said it is taking steps to resolve issues that are hampering the growth of the capital goods industry. Minister of Heavy Industries Subodh Mohite told a round table meeting of CEOs of capital goods industry here that the industry was making a comeback after six years of recession, and the government would aid the recovery, a CII press release said here.

Mohite said that inter-ministerial meetings would be held to discuss the issues related to withdrawal of domestic price preference and administrative simplification, it said.

Asking the PSEs to improve productivity, he said import and excise duties, sales tax, power tariff and purchase preference might need to rationalised.
