Flood situation critical in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar
New Delhi, July 09: Flood situation in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Bihar deteriorated today with rain-fed rivers submerging fresh areas displacing several people from their homes.

In Assam, Brahmaputra and its tributaries submerged fresh areas in 19 affected districts.
The situation in the worst-affected Dhemaji district worsened with the river breaching about two-kilometres of the North East Frontier Railway Services between Dambuk and Kebranga inundating 200 villages and affecting 1.5 lakh people.
River Jaibhoroli, a major tributary of Brahmaputra, was flowing above the danger level.
Majuli, the world largest river island, is also in grip of floods with large scale erosion reported from several places.
