New Delhi, June 03: CBI has chargesheeted 10 persons for allegedly working as touts at the Regional Passport Office (RPO) here and obtaining illegal gratification from applicants in addition to the prescribed fees and service charges for getting passports issued to them. In 10 chargesheets filed in the court of special judge R K Gauba, the agency has named Sunil of Karaval Nagar, Bhoop Singh and Prempal Singh of Sultanpuri, Attarpal singh of Mangolpuri, Mushtaq Ahmad of J J colony Khyala, Santokh Singh of Bhajanpura, Nadeem of Jama Masjid, Sabhapati of Seemapuri, Amarchand Kalshan alias Amar Rahi of Hauz Khas and one Ram Kishan of Kalibari Marg as accused in the case under PCA. The court is likely to consider the chargesheets on August 28 next.

The case was registered on may 28, 1999 on the basis of a complaint filed by Inspector P K Sharma of CBI's anti- corruption branch here alleging that a large number of touts were actively functioning in and around the RPO, Bhikaji Cama place, New Delhi in connivance with the RPO staff at various counters there.
