Gangtok, Aug 28: Three legislators of opposition Sikkim Sangram Parishad, who have formally announced their resignation from the party, would be allotted 'separate seats' in the state assembly tomorrow.

Speaker Kalawati Subba allotted separate seats to J&K Bhandari (MLA from loosing-Pacheykhani), Sonam Dorjee (Pathing) and Narendra Kumar Pradhan (Gangtok) in the house following their requests, assembly secretary Sangay D Basi today said. The assembly bulletin also published the new seat allotments.

With their desertions, SSP President Nar Bahadur Bhandari was left alone in the opposition bench.

Although the three MLAs were expected to join the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) of Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, the party was yet to formally announce its decision of taking the three MLAs into its fold. In the 32-member house, SDF has now 28 MLAs (without the three). The SSP which had won seven seats in the 1999 assembly polls, left with four including its leader Bhandari (before the present move) after three of its MLAs had defected to the ruling outfit last year.
