Pakistan has proposed to sell 'Super Mushshak' trainer aircraft to Saudi Arabia and the negotiations are at an advanced stage. Officials of Pakistan's Aircraft Manufacturing Factory (AMF) said sales negotiations for 30 to 40 aircraft have reached an advanced stage but an agreement was delayed due to Sept 11 attacks in the US.
Pakistan has also listed Oman, Qatar, Myanmar, Jordan and Sri Lanka as potential customers, assistant director of AMF Ft Lt Samia Naz said, 'The News' daily reported.
Super Mushshak, a light aircraft fitted with single 260 HP engine is available with two to three seater capacity, it said. AMF is developing a four-seater trainer aircraft for the use of flying clubs to train commercial pilots, officials said.
It recently supplied 16 aircraft to Pakistan air force, they said, adding another batch of 16 was sold to the Iranian air force.
Besides the trainer aircraft, AMF also manufactured Karakoram-8, an advanced jet trainer, Baaz Aerial Target System and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, the report added.
