New Delhi, Nov 23: Chhattisgarh is fast emerging as a place of entrepreneurs choice with Rs 50,000 crore investment already made in various industries in the first two years of the creation of the state.
Stating this, Chief Minister Ajit Jogi said here today "good governance and infrastructure development is the top priority of his government which has set the target of transforming the state's economy into a sound and viable one within the next decade".
Talking to reporters after completion of two years of his government in the office, Jogi outlined a plan titled "Vision 2012" laying down the priority areas of action initiatives to this effect.
Rapid human capital development, unlocking natural wealth and building world-class infrastructure in the next 10 years would be his top priority, Jogi said adding that generation of additional 1,000 MW power to feed needy neighbouring states would also be given a priority.
Chhatisgarh, he claimed, was the only state in the country which has surplus 7,000 MW electricity and was catering to the needs of neghbouring states.

Slated to be implemented in time bound phases, he said the plan seeks to set the pace of socio-economic development within the state for subsequent decades.

"We are a small but a fast track government that has decided to focus its energies on critical areas like law and order, education, health, environment, social safety and fiscal reforms leaving rest to private sector," he said.
